Dear Student:
According to the guidelines for administration of our scholarship program you must be "a child or grandchild of a Masonic Member in the Jurisdiction of Rhode Island or a student who is a resident of Rhode Island and who has resided in Rhode Island for a period of at least five years..." To be considered for a scholarship, each applicant must also be a U.S. Citizen who is graduating, or has graduated, from an accredited high school. While there are no restrictions on the field of study for undergraduate programs, the only scholarships for graduate studies are restricted to the field of Veterinary Science.
Qualified high school students,who are scheduled to graduate in 2004, must submit an application, that is signed and fully completed, along with all of the documents required as detailed in Section A.1 of the application.
Qualified college students, must submit an application, signed and fully completed, along with all of the documents required as detailed in Section A.2 of the application.
All applications must be submitted under one cover. Application packages must be physically in the office of the Masonic Grand Lodge Charities of RI, Inc., 222 Taunton Avenue, East Providence, RI 02914
by April 19, 2004 12:00 Noon,
whether delivered in person or by other carrier including the US Postal Service. Applications received after that time will not be considered. The only exception to the "one cover" requirement is official transcripts which may be submitted directly by the educational institution. The same arrival requirements will apply. It is the applicant's sole responsibility to ensure that submission is timely as described above.
Please be advised that all transcripts must be "official" transcripts and are to be marked as such by the issuing high school or college. Unofficial transcripts, report cards or grade reports are not acceptable. Late and/or incomplete applications will not be reviewed. All grants under our program are made for one year only and are not automatically renewable. However, any qualified applicant may apply for a grant for a succeeding year in accordance with the instructions contained on the application.
