Awards are used for post-secondary education who include students who are children of Masonic members of this Jurisdiction (Rhode Island) or other students who are residents and who have resided in Rhode Island for a period in excess of five years.

| Awards are based upon scholastic achievement and financial need of the applicant. It is required that those applying shall be children or Grandchildren of Masonic members in this jurisdiction, or a student who is a resident of Rhode Island and who has resided in Rhode Island for a period of at least five years. |

| For students in full attendance at Brown University in need of financial assistance and must be a lineal descendant of any member or former member of an Masonic lodge in Rhode Island, with a preference of study in Engineering. |

| Grants may be awarded only to graduates of secondary schools located in Newport County and are in attendance in an accredited college or university. |

"Majority card;" Applicant must submit a letter of
recommendation from the Dad Advisor or Mother Advisor. |

LEON M. ABBOTT SCOTTISH RITE SCHOLARSHIP |

Applicants for a scholarship must be children or grandchildren of Scottish Rite Masons or, they may be members of youth organizations sponsored by the Masonic Fraternity. An applicant must be a graduate of a public or private secondary/preparatory school. Applications are available at the Scottish Rite Office, 2115 Broad Street, Cranston, RI 02905 (401/461-2480), Deadline for the receipt of applications is April lst. This scholarship is sponsored by the Supreme Council, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite whose headquarters are in Lexington, MA. |

| Awards are based on scholarship and leadership abilities as well as financial need for present or former DeMolays. The Valley of Providence Scottish Rite, sponsors this scholarship. |

PROVIDENCE ROYAL ARCH CHAPTER |
| Scholarships are awarded based upon need and qualifications of children and grandchildren of members of Providence Royal Arch Chapter No. 1 and those who were members at the date of their death and to members of Chapter of the Order of DeMolay in Rhode Island and members of Rainbow in the State of Rhode Island. GRAND CHAPTER OF RHODE ISLAND, |
| Scholarship awards are made to students preparing for leadership in
various fields of Religious Service, such as Ministers and Priests,
Missionaries, Directors of Church Music, Directors of Religious Education
and Counselors of Youth Leadership. An applicant needs to have a Masonic
or Eastern Star relationship. However, they should have completed their
freshman year in college. The Order of Eastern Star does not discriminate
on the basis of age, race, color, national or ethnic origin or religious
belief in awarding these scholarships.
General Education Scholarships Scholarship awards are given to students who have a State of Rhode Island Masonic or Eastern Star relationship or a member of Rainbow or DeMolay in good standing. They should have completed their freshman year in college. Applicants for both scholarships may apply through Subordinate Chapters, members of the Education and ESTARL Committee of the Grand Chapter and the Office of the Grand Secretary, 19 Preston Drive, Warwick, Rhode Island 02886 (phone: 401/ 739-9354). All the applications must be filed on or before June 15. |

KNIGHTS TEMPLAR EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION |
| Loans are granted to students in the junior and senior years of college or for the last two years of graduate work. The student has the use of the money while in college without interest, as the interest begins upon graduation and the payments on the principal begin six moths after graduation. Each applicant must call the Grand Commandery Office for a personal interview at which time the loan is explained and the necessary application forms are given to the student.
