Grand Master's Message
Br. Richard L. Ault, Jr. MWGM

May 2009 - Introduction to the Grand Lodge
Most Worshipful Robert J. Allen Past Grand Master and installing officer, Most Worshipful Grand Masters, Most Worshipful Past Grand Masters, Rt. Worshipfuls, Worshipfuls, Wardens, Brethren all.

It gives me great personal pleasure to introduce to you Brother Richard L.
Ault, Jr. The Most Worshipful Grand Master elect for the State of Rhode Island
and Providence Plantations, as he stands here before you on this his pinnacle of
his masonic career. Brother Ault was born on July 19, 1949 in Providence, RI
The son of the late Richard L. and Helene Ault. He has one sister Diane Thurber.
He was educated in the Providence School System and graduated from
North Providence High School. After graduation he enlisted in the United States
Army. Serving as a Pershing Missile crewman stationed in Germany.

In 1969 he married his wife Linda, they are celebrating 40th wedding
anniversary this year. They spent their first year of marriage in Germany
where he was stationed. Their marriage has been blessed by two daughters,
Tonja Marie and Sheri Ann.

Upon returning home from the military he went to work for the family owned
business, J and A Enameling Inc. located in Providence, RI. During this time he
went back to school and received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business
Management from Johnson and Wales University. Richard is now the President
and soul owner of J and A Enameling which has been in business for the past
54 years.

Richard's commitments started at an early age, he was a Cub Scout, Boy
Scout and Explorer Scout. He was the President of the PTO, and coached CYO
Basketball, at St. Francis Church in Warwick. He was President and still belongs
to the same bowling league after 35 years. He was also secretary of his golf league,
and is an avid boater.

Brother Ault's masonic career started in 1982 when he partitioned Harmony
Lodge No. 9 for membership. He received his EA degree on June 14, 1983 was
passed to the degree of Fellowcraft on September 13, 1983 and was raised to the
sublime Degree of a Master Mason on October 11, 1983 and signed the by-laws
of Harmony Lodge on November 8, 1983. He served his lodge as Worshipful
Master in 1994.
During his masonic career, Richard has traveled to Plymouth, England on many
occasions to visit brethren from Harmony Lodge No.156. This strong fraternal
bond which developed many years ago still continues to this day.
Richard was appointed by Most Worshipful Robert J. Allen as the District
Deputy Grand Master for the Southern Masonic District in 2001 and served in
the Central, Northern, East Bay and Metro Masonic Districts. He was elected
to Junior Grand Warden in 2005, Senior Grand Warden in 2006, Deputy Grand
Master in 2007 and in November 2008 was elected to become the 154th Grand
Master of this Most Worshipful Grand Lodge for the State of Rhode Island and
Providence Plantations.

Most Worshipful Brother Robert J. Allen, Past Grand Master, I now leave
Brother Ault in your masonic care, for his installation as Grand Master.
