Drama & the celebration of life

On April 8th and 9th, Scottish Rite Freemasonry was a showcase of the hard work and dedication of the works of the Lodge of Perfection from many parts of the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction. Brethren traveled from as far as Rochester, New York and most of the New England States to participate, at the invitation of Boston Lafayette Lodge of Perfection, Valley of Boston, to provide the drama of the 4th to the 14th degree.

Re-dedication of Hope Lodge #25

From time immemorial, it has been the custom of the Craft of Free and Accepted Masons to lay corner stones, consecrate Masonic Altars and dedicate monuments. On Thursday, February 10th, we exercised our right and privilege to do so once again in accordance with our most ancient traditions and re-dedicated the ashlar, lodge room and building of Hope Lodge No. 25, in Wakefield, Rhode Island.

Helping Hometown Heros

Veterans who visit Providence’s VA Medical Center usually have to park a good distance from the front door entrance. For those with walking disabilities, this could mean a tough walk up hill or a long trek from the back parking lots. The VA has a shuttle service made up of two golf carts to look for and pick up Veterans to bring them to the entrance. Over the years the vehicles have worn down and faced many, many repairs to keep them going. Both are now in desperate need of replacement.

Revolutionary War Festive Board

The smell of the sea, the squawk of shore birds, and the squeaking of a sailing vessel's lines are all well known to us here in Rhode Island. During the Tall Ships festival in the summer, we may see square-rigged vessels breaking the horizon. On July 8th 2015 we will see something that we haven't quite seen before – a celebration of the preparations for American Independence, with the French Frigate that brought Major-General Lafayette back to Washington in 1780.
